July 25, 2018 - SIOG appoints Najia Musolino as its new CEO

Najia Musolino is the new appointed Chief Executive Officer at the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG).

Najia Musolino has served in various leadership roles and brings with her a decade of experience in global health. Najia is widely recognised for developing, resourcing and managing global collaborations and teams as well as for a track record of synthesising evidence for policy options and integrating cross-cutting issues into analyses, corporate mechanisms, and flagship products.

She has served as Director of Human Resource for Health at Agence de Médecine Préventive (AMP) Services in Ivory Coast and France. In this role, she managed a team of global experts for the production and scale up of health care services in West Africa including national training programmes for the strengthening of the health workforce aligned with country policy and evidence based health workforce management needs. Within this position, she also provided medical coordination expertise for the improvement of immunisation programme performance in Gavi eligible and graduating countries through collaborations with the WHO, GSK, Pfizer and Merck. Prior to this, Najia served as Senior Specialist of the Global Action Platform at the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) in Switzerland. In this position, she lead the development of the Research Fairness Initiative (RFI), a guidelines and reporting system for sustainable partnerships in research and innovation for health. Najia has also worked for Merck Serono S.A in Switzerland.

Najia holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and has served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (LICR) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her areas of expertise include oncology, global health diplomacy, drug development and market access.

Najia is the recipient of the 1993 President Shankar’s International Award, India. An active member of the Business and Professional Women Switzerland (2008-2015), she has held Board positions in Swiss based non-profit sector.

Najia Musolino is ex-officio member of the SIOG Board and its Executive Committee.
